With the fantastic wetlands of the Okavango Delta and the wildlife-rich Chobe River, a Botswana safari is sure to give you the inside track on African animal antics. Travel in the wetter months to see the vibrant birdlife, or visit in the summer to see some of the bigger game that this country is famous for. Most notably, you are likely to see large numbers of elephants, as they travel through the Chobe National Park in massive herds.
As you tour the various game reserves, you will travel by a range of different means. When you are not scouring the plains in a 4-wheel drive vehicle, you may find yourself floating along the Chobe River aboard the Zambezi Queen or paddling through the delta in a traditional mokoro canoe.
Then, just as you begin to wonder if your trip can get any more remarkable, the sunset over the Makgadikgadi Salt Pan inspires you to contemplate the beauty of Botswana in a different light.
