Indian Ocean

This Indian Ocean is the third largest of the world’s oceans and accounts for 20% of all water on the earth’s surface. It binds together some of the world's most exotic, fascinating and luxurious destinations - all of which can be visited as part of a TravelQuest tour.

If you are looking for a tranquil island escape, you will be glad to know that the Indian Ocean is home to some the world’s finest beaches. The archipelagic nations of the Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius each offer a fine blend of lush green forests and gorgeous white-sand beaches brushed by turquoise waters.

A journey further south will take you to Madagascar, which is a wildlife lovers paradise. 80% of the flora and fauna on this majestic island cannot be found anywhere else on earth – with many rare species of lemur and exotic orchids to be discovered.

The Persian Gulf contrasts these island paradises with historical landmarks, opulent hotels and enormous skyscrapers. The United Arab Emirates is widely considered to be the gem of the Persian Gulf, combining fabulous beaches with an unparalleled sense of luxury. A journey to Dubai or Abu Dhabi is a testament to this, while the souks and malls will provide the opportunity to purchase anything from exotic spices to bars of gold.

India can almost be considered a continent in its own right, with so many contrasting regions and cultures to explore. World famous icons such as the Taj Mahal have to be considered must-see landmarks; but so too is the region of Rajasthan – which provides an opportunity to see a range of exotic wildlife including Leopards, Hyenas, Jungle Cats, Bears, Deer and – of course – the Indian Tiger. Alternatively, you can embark on a luxury river cruise along the Brahmaputra and Ganges Rivers, which provides an opportunity to visit remote villages and experience local cultures.

Whether you are looking to explore this diverse region via a land-based tour, an ocean-based cruise or a river cruise, TravelQuest can offer a wide variety of options to suit your desires.
