Malaysia

Whilst Malaysia is where you will find fantastic beaches, waters that are perfect for scuba diving and one of the most developed infrastructures in Asia, it is the island of Borneo that our tours focus on. As the third largest island in the world, Malaysia shares this territory with Indonesia and Brunei. It is one of the best places to see wildlife in its natural habitat and one of the principal places for coming face to face with orangutans.

Besides these beautiful, orange primates, there is an abundance of other animals that are as diverse as anywhere else on the planet. The rainforest canopies and skies above are filled with colourful birdlife and even the lizards can take to the skies in these parts. Hornbills, warblers and barbets fill the air with their calls, emphasised by the distinct howls of the resident macaques. In other areas of the island, like the banks of the Kinabatangan River, crafty crocs and rare pygmy elephants may also make an appearance. Plus, there’s the chance to see some other species, such as sun bears and proboscis monkeys, within the protected surroundings of conservation centres.

Add all this to the fact that you can also explore Deer Cave, the largest cave passage in the world, and you have the makings of a really wild adventure.

The capital, Kuala Lumpur, is also a popular stop during cruise holidays. Ships dock in Pork Klang before being transferred to this beautiful, multi-cultural city. Other cruise ports in Malaysia include Langkawi and Penang.
