Antigua and Barbuda

With only a few nautical miles between these two Caribbean islands, Antigua and Barbuda has been nicknamed the “Land of 365 Beaches” for the vast and golden sands that surround these islands. Whilst Antigua and Barbuda may refer to two separate islands, they, along with many smaller islands, form a twin-island nation.

Antigua is the larger of the two islands and is renowned for its contrasting energetic culture and peaceful surroundings. Scuba diving will enable you to explore the many reefs that surround this island, each of which provides a home to an exotic range of marine life. It is quite possible for you to experience a close encounter with turtles, which are often found on the many beaches.

Barbuda also offers a range of stunning beaches, although these are often more deserted than those found in Antigua. In many cases, you may even be able to experience a beach where you can walk for miles without even seeing another person. You will also find a huge frigate bird colony on the island, which makes Barbuda one of the only places on earth where you view these red-chested seabirds.

One of the best ways to explore these paradises is on board a cruise ship. Antigua is on of the most visited destinations in the Caribbean, with ships regular docking in St. John's.
