Situated in the northern regions is the Croatian capital of Zagreb, which is mistakenly overlooked by many visitors. Its cobbled streets are reminiscent of those that you may expect to see in Austria or Italy and will guide you through to both the Upper and Lower Town areas. The Upper Town is home to a city’s medieval centre and you will find many significant landmarks including a beautiful cathedral and an old town gate featuring a sacred painting of Mother Mary. Contrastingly, the Lower Town is much more modern and houses the city’s business district, but you will also find many serene parks, gardens and museums within this area.

This UNESCO World Heritage site – made up of 16 interlinked lakes and a large forested area - is one of the most breath-taking natural landmarks in all of Europe.
